Which antipsychotic medication can l take for schizoprenia paranoia ( fear of people) which does not cause nervousness or depression at higher dose. Currently l am taking 4mg stelizine but if l increase it, it has has these side effect. l have tried geodon, abilify, zyprexa, and few others but they had bad side effects.l have not tried seroquel or some of the older drugs.

on top of that.. you should know that it is possible the meds that have fewer side effects may also be ineffective on you.
I have a relative, who ''has'' to be on anti-psychotics. One time she was in the hospital, for 6 months, and I got to speak to the Dr. one day. He said,''The object, is to find the right combination of medicines to have the right side effects, to stabalize her.''
So, they all have side effects!
This is definitely a question that you should ask you prescribing doctor. He/she went to school for many years in order to diagnose and help you. Taking the word of other fellow sufferers will not help you since this illness is so nonspecific. Good question, see your doc and good luck.
Well Kevin I think all meds. have some kind of side effects. I take risperdal & zyprexa &zoloft But i also take meds. for extream vertigo. the side effects of my meds. have me in diapers because I can not tell when i am peeing so I have to wear diapers 24/7 To me that is a BAD side effect their r some worse I guess but this oue is bad enufe I think. As u can see some side effects r worse on others that take the same thing. I am not conplaining because if i do not talk the pills then i am in a lot worse shape
i got really good results with RISPERDAL. do some research then talk with your dr.
I am not sure I took Risperdal & Seroquel & they r both pretty bad on weight gain but seroquel makes u feel awful. maybe u could try Geodon or Albify. Some of them r deadly & worse than the typical ones.
Sorry I guess I did not read the whole thing to answer ur question, maybe try some of the older (Typical) ones they say they r worse but I am & sure many others think atypical is worse or equal. Doctors r not always the most helpful but if I were u i would do some research & look around on the net & on search engines. So check around GOOD LUCK!!!
